Continuing their streak for promoting cutting-edge technology in the state, the Registrations and Stamps department in Telangana will soon sport a brand new chatbot. The southern state's IT department is reportedly working on a new chatbot which will help users find key information related to the department.
According to a report in a noted daily, Telangana's Information Technology, Electronics and Communications (ITE&C) is working on a chatbot which would give out details like locations of sub registrar offices (SRO), the fee for marriage, property and society registrations, among others.
A department employee told the daily, "As of now, people have a lot of trouble getting to know the SRO in their jurisdiction. A person living in Punjagutta might have their SRO in Banjara Hills and vice versa. Through this feature, a person can provide their locality details, and the chatbot would throw back the location of the correct SRO."
Basically, the chatbot would handle functions related to, but not limited to:
- Rinding the correct sub-registrar office according to the areas/zones
- Giving correct details about registration fees
- Online payment
The chatbot is reportedly being made ready to work on robotic process automation (RPA). However, the State Govt is getting ready to involve artificial intelligence in the process as well.
Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao has had a lion's share in turning the state into an investor and tech-friendly region. Be it at Davos or Telangana, KTR sure does know how to make the right investor pitch thus, inviting tech-giants to establish their CoEs and work with the government.
