Bengaluru-based test automation startup Testsigma has secured USD 4.6 million in its seed funding round led by Accel and STRIVE, with BoldCap Ventures also participating. Testsigma has stated it will use the capital raised to build stronger engineering and product teams. The company also wants to assemble a solid community of developers, testers and test automation engineers.
Testsigma was founded in 2019 by Rukmangada Kandyala, Pratheep Velicherla, Vikram Chaitanya, and Rajesh Reddy as an open-source, low-code, scalable test automation platform to help software developers cut their delivery time periods and release products quicker and on a bigger scale.
The co-founder and CTO of Freshworks Shanmugam Krishnasamy, CEO of Ally.io Vetri Vellore, CEO at B12 Nitesh Banta and Ioann Fainsiller, cofounder at Pintek, also participated in the round.
“What we’re trying to do at Testsigma is not just simplify test automation to speed up the testing, but also make it a sustainable, scalable process in which the tools don’t require ongoing maintenance, freeing up teams to focus on value delivery instead of building and maintaining scripts and frameworks,” Kandyala said.
“Test Automation is a problem faced by every organisation, more so these days when release cycles are getting shorter. We are very excited to partner with Testsigma. It is an incredibly comprehensive, easy-to-use test automation platform that caters to every testing requirement of an organisation,” Abhinav Chaturvedi, a partner at Accel, said.
A World Quality Report by Capgemini for 2021- 2022 states that the test automation market is currently expanding by 20 per cent year-on-year and will balloon to a USD 50 billion market by 2025.
