Most of the leading Indian-based analytics companies such as Fractal analytics, Mu Sigma, Gramener among others have offices in Singapore. While analytics has been crucial in deciding the country’s economy for long, it is after the launch of Smart Nation vision, that the role of data science and analytics has significantly increased.

In this article, we list down 10 big organisations that currently boast a lot of openings in data science jobs and related avenues. While these are just the 10 names, there are several other organisations that are currently hiring for data scientists and/or related roles such as Apple, Visa, Datawatch, Cisco, HPE, Experian, Randstad and more.

The data science team of Grab works on some of the fascinating problems transport, logistics, economics, and related areas. They are looking to constantly upgrade their offerings by using deep learning, data mining and other advanced techniques, hence calling for data science and related job roles in the company. They usually for Post Grad of PhDs in computer science, mathematics, statistics or related areas with experience in ML frameworks, Python, R, Scala, building ML models and more. OCBC Bank:

The job roles vary from maintaining an efficient data ecosystem to understanding and solving business problems from the curated data set. DBS Bank:

DBS Bank is a multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Singapore. It has a full spectrum of products and services for which they extensively use data and analytics. The bank has plenty of job openings mid-level to senior roles in data science and analytics field, which typically required an understanding of analytic platforms such as SAS, SQL, Python etc. along with an understanding of advanced machine learning models, recommendation engine and more. The global search giant has numerous opportunities in store in its Singapore office for data scientists. Usually requiring a master’s degree in areas such as mathematics, statistics, engineering or applied science, there are opportunities in areas such as marketing analytics, statistical modelling, machine learning and more. They ask for skills such as R, Python, SQL, big data experience among others. The minimum experience for data science roles they require is 4-5 five years with a strong understanding of core areas.

EY:

The data and analytics team at EY are responsible for information management, advanced analytics and business intelligence. They implement information-driven strategies for a lot of services. They are currently looking for openings such as Senior Associate-Data Scientist, Big Data Engineer, Data Scientist-Advisory and more at Singapore location. The skills they typically look for are familiarity with tools such as SQL, data stream mining, SAP data extraction, knowledge of big data analytics tools such as Spark, Java, HiveQL, ability to capture client business requirement and more.

They are typically looking for people with a degree in computer science or related area. The social media giant used analytics and data science in more ways than we know and are hence constantly in a lookout to expand their data science team.
