In an interesting development, Aeris, a pioneer and leader in Internet of Things market has formed a partnership with MapmyIndia to offer geospatial intelligence based IoT solutions in India. It is a no unknown fact that MapmyIndia is a leader in premium quality digital maps, global positioning system (GPS) navigation, tracking, location-based apps and geographic information system (GIS) solutions.
With this alliance both the companies aim at leveraging their respective areas of core competence to jointly develop solutions and offer services in this area and the companies are confident that this landmark agreement would redefine the contours of the overall IoT solutions market.

The company stated that the global IoT market is expected to cross $200 billion by 2020 with IoT India in market standing at USD $5.6 billion with 200 million connected devices in 2016. This is further expected to grow to USD $15 billion with 2.7 billion devices by 2020. Given these numbers, the partnership rightly intends to tap into this significant opportunity for technology and service providers.
