Amidst the Coronavirus pandemic tech giants like Microsoft and others have been facing financial losses. According to sources, Microsoft along with other tech giants like Apple, Amazon, Alphabet and Facebook have lost a combined $1.3 trillion in valuation since the market peaked.
In March, Microsoft announced the cancellation of one of its biggest in-person events, Build Developer conference, which was going to be held on May 19th to May 21st in Seattle and make it digitally available for the community by the online-only event.
Now, the tech giant has announced the cancelling of another big event of this year, Microsoft Inspire 2020, which was scheduled from Sunday, July 19 to Thursday, July 23 in Las Vegas.
In a blog post, Microsoft stated, “The safety of our community is a top priority. In light of health safety recommendations from public health authorities, we will not be holding Microsoft Inspire 2020 as an in-person event. We are exploring alternative ways to bring our partner community together to connect and learn. Stay tuned for more details to come.”
According to the blog post, over the past ten years, nearly 130,000 people, representing more than 150 countries, have attended Microsoft Inspire events. The Microsoft Inspire event provides an opportunity for the partners to hear the latest innovations and strategy from Microsoft leaders, and learn from other partner organisations from around the world. During the event, some of the unique collaborative sessions available cover everything from Microsoft’s Cloud Solution Provider program, to ISV resources, strategies on co-selling, the Microsoft Marketplace and so much more.
