Recently, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple tweeted that the tech giant will be supporting India amid the COVID crisis. It is also mentioned that the company will also be donating to support as well as relief efforts to India in order to fight the second wave. The announcement was made soon after Google and Microsoft pledge to help India fight COVID-19.

In a tweet, the Apple CEO said, “Amid a devastating rise of COVID cases in India, our thoughts are with the medical workers, our Apple family and everyone there who is fighting through this awful stage of the pandemic. Apple will be donating to support and relief efforts on the ground.”

However, it is not disclosed how much the company will be funding or how the donation will come about. Besides this, a few days back, the iPhone manufacturing company announced that it is starting a program to help employees get voluntary COVID-19 vaccinations at the iPhone maker's offices.

According to sources, a spokesperson from Apple stated that the company is working with drugstore chain Walgreens Boots Alliance as its vendor and will open a website for its workers to sign up for appointments

Last year, the tech giant joined hands with Google to launch a comprehensive solution that includes application programming interfaces (APIs) and operating system-level technology to assist in enabling contact tracing.
