Judson Althoff, EVP & Chief Commercial Officer of Microsoft has announced its partnership with Cognizant to bring Microsoft’s generative AI capabilities to Cognizant’s employees and millions of users across industries.

Althoff said, by leveraging Microsoft’s Copilot capabilities, Cognizant will help organisations transform business operations, enhance employee experiences, and deliver new value for their customers.

“We will work with Cognizant to build and deliver industry and business-specific solutions built on Microsoft Copilot Studio to help customers create and customise their own copilots. I am excited about this next step in our journey and for the opportunities ahead to drive pragmatic innovation together,” said Althoff.

Cognizant acquired 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats for its associates and 500 Sales Copilot seats and 500 Services Copilot seats. They aim to boost productivity, streamline workflows, and improve customer experiences.

Also, Cognizant plans to roll out Microsoft 365 Copilot to a million users among their global 2000 clients and across 11 industries. Furthermore, 35,000 Cognizant developers have been trained on Github Copilot through their Synapse skilling program, with another 40,000 developers set to undergo training.

A few months ago, Cognizant and Microsoft teamed up to introduce the Innovation Assistant, a generative AI-powered tool developed on Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. Ravi Kumar highlighted the partnership with Microsoft, stating,

"In collaboration with Microsoft, we are leveraging generative AI to transform our innovation strategy, aiming to keep ourselves and our clients ahead in a swiftly changing business landscape."

In 2023, Microsoft announced its commencement of the Copilot rollout for consumers in September and for enterprises in November of the same year, heralding the AI-powered assistant's potential to revolutionize user interactions with technology. Subsequently, reports surfaced in November indicating that Microsoft 365 Copilot could potentially generate over $10 billion in annualized revenue for the tech giant by 2026.
