satya nadella Repeating Spider Man's dialogue almost verbatim, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella talked about how technological advancements brought great opportunities (power), which should be used with great responsibility. Specifically sharing his experiences about how India has evolved from being a service provider to a country that uses its own IT prowess in a myriad of sectors, Nadella talked about values associated with technology. Talking about Artificial Intelligence, Nadella said that AI was set to be a part and parcel of every experience we create. "The ultimate computing experience will blend both virtual and real world. In future, this experience will change the idea of going to a computing device for a particular service," said Nadella at the India Today Conclave 2017. When asked about what the next big thing in technology would be, Nadella said, "The three things that I think about are mixed reality, artificial intelligence (AI), and, now it’s a little out there, but quantum (computing)." He added, "Our mission is to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more. Other's achievements on top of the technology we build is the true reward for us." He also spoke about the three timeless values associated with the responsibility of digital technology:
  1. Empowering people
  2. Inclusive technology
  3. Building trust in technology
When asked about the rising concerns about digital privacy of citizens, Nadella said: "The data belongs to the user and it is our responsibility to make sure that data is used for the benefit of that consumer only. It’s transparent, it’s in their control and it’s secure. Building that trust with consumer is super important. That’s why there has to be trust on business models where you are not turning data from one place as a source of income in another place, or to create value for someone else. There has to be a simple, straightforward and transparent transaction that builds trusts. Privacy is something that every user should value but at the same time they need to be able to permission their data to be used so that there is value for them."
