Presiding over the concluding session of the “Centre-State Science Conclave'' conducted in Ahmedabad on Sunday, September 11, Union MoS for Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh announced the set-up of dashboards to facilitate the sharing of best technology practices among the centre and the states.

Dr Singh further explained that the department of science and technology will develop a high-level mechanism to monitor the follow up action of the session. The dashboard will be prepared for other states to emulate the initiatives and achievements related to science and technology, with the creation of an app in the near future.

The appointment of a nodal officer for each state was also requested by the minister in order to cooperate with the special committee on sharing best practices.

“If the same technology is uploaded on the dashboard, other states will join and share this CSIR technology from source finding to water treatment and thus benefit millions of people across the country”, said Dr Singh.

Furthermore, he said that the initiative is also expected to positively contribute to Prime Minister’s “Har Ghar Nal Se Jal", along with the goal of ‘doubling farmer’s income’.

“The latest state-of-the-art technology is being employed by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) for mapping groundwater sources in arid regions and thus help utilise groundwater for drinking purposes."
Besides the announcement of sharing best practices, the Ministry is also proactively reaching out to startups across India, providing seed funds for incubation and quality research to ensure their sustainability in the industry.
