sigtuple Bengaluru-based healthcare startup SigTuple has raised $16 million in the Series C round of funding. Founded 2015 by former American Express employees Rohit Kumar Pandey, Tathagato Rai Dastidar and Apurv Anand, the company has raised $19 million from their last round. The Series C round was led by Accel Partners, Chiratae Ventures, Pi Ventures and Flipkart co-founder Binny Bansal. Reportedly, Bansal is set to join the SigTuple board as part of the agreement. The company has been working on a low-cost system for examining blood, urine and semen samples using artificial intelligence to recognise microscopic images. Using SigTuple’s own software, their machine can now recognise these samples to differentiate between normal and abnormal cells. Bansal told a leading financial newspaper, “SigTuple transcends the space of tech-enabled healthcare. It is creating the technology ground up for making healthcare affordable and accessible." SigTuple CEO Rohit Kumar Pandey added, “We are looking to pioneer a new fabric for diagnostics, which will not only enable us to provide better customer experience but will also power our vision to improve the healthcare services through data-driven intelligence. The diagnostic data intelligence has untapped potential to influence other industries to maximize the benefits to customers." In June 2018, their Series B round was led by IDG Ventures and Accel Partners along with pi Ventures, Endiya Partners, VH Capital, Axilor Ventures and Flipkart’s executive chairman Binny Bansal. SigTuple has also raised venture debt from Trifecta Capital in that round.
