Earlier today, Wipro GE Healthcare announced the launch of its first Made-in-India, ‘AI-powered’ Cath lab—Optima IGS 320 with an aim to advance cardiac care in India. The company claims that the Cath lab is built at its new factory launched under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme in Bengaluru, India.

The interventional imaging software in Optima IGS 320 enables clinical versatility with greater precision to guide sophisticated, non-invasive procedures. Automating the typically complex process with AutoRight helps reduce the manual burden and may also help increase the attention of interventionists on the procedure.

It is mainly designed for cardiac and electrophysiology procedures, advancing visualisation across imaging to support intelligent healthcare delivery.

In a statement, Dr. Shravan Subramanyam, MD, Wipro GE Healthcare said, “At Wipro GE Healthcare, our mission is to move from health care to healthy ageing and that can be accomplished with predictive, preventative, personalised medicine. The rising complexity of patient profiles and shifting disease patterns is making the need of personalised care even more vital and Artificial Intelligence solutions have the potential to transform the patient care pathway. With our ‘Made in India’ AI-enabled Cath lab, we aim to drive intelligent imaging to support cardiologists and patients with customised treatment protocols and therapies and enable access to quality healthcare across all of India.”

Earlier in 2022, Wipro GE Healthcare had also launched Revolution Aspire CT (Computed Tomography) scanner. It was the first product that was designed and manufactured end-to-end in India, and was launched at the company’s Medical Devices Manufacturing plant.
