Five global and Indian technology firms have joined the India Deep Tech Alliance (IDTA) to support deep tech startups. The new members include Applied Materials, CG Power, Lam Research, Larsen & Toubro, and Micron Technology as corporate strategic partners to provide capital access, technical expertise, and market linkages.

Arun Kumar, India Managing Partner of Celesta Capital and Chair of IDTA, said in a statement that the new members mark “a pivotal step in moving India’s deep tech ambition from intent to execution”.

IDTA aims to accelerate India-domiciled deep tech startups and expand private sector support for strategic technology sectors. The latest expansion, follows onboarding new members in May last year when the IDTA announced SoftBank as an investor and revealed NVIDIA as a founding member and strategic and technical advisor.

The total venture capital commitments now exceed $2.5 billion over five years. This includes a dedicated $1 billion allocation for Indian AI startups over three years. Venture members have deployed $110 million across more than 50 companies in six months.

Omkaram Nalamasu, CTO of Applied Materials, said the company will contribute its technology expertise to build resilient ecosystems. In response, Amar Kaul, Global CEO and Managing Director of CG Power, added that execution and industrial capability will determine global relevance in India’s deep tech journey.

IDTA said the new members will support lab-to-fab transitions, production readiness, technical training, research discussions, and policy dialogues. Kevin Chen, Head of Lam Capital and Corporate Development at Lam Research, said the company will engage with innovators on manufacturability and technology roadmaps.

The consortium brings together investors, corporates, and technology partners to help startups scale globally. Anand Ramamoorthy, VP and Managing Director of Micron India, said the company’s decision reflects its commitment to ecosystem-led collaboration and the national RDI agenda.
