CtrlS Datacenters will invest ₹10,000 crore in Bihar to set up a 150 MW AI factory in Bodh Gaya, while expanding its presence in the state with the inauguration of a ₹400-crore data centre in Patna.
The company has signed a letter of intent (LoI) with the state government for the proposed AI factory. Its Patna data centre, located in the Patliputra Industrial Area, has an IT load capacity of 12 MW, with scope for expansion based on demand.
The facility was inaugurated on October 13 in the presence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. It will serve enterprises, government institutions, hyperscalers and technology companies across Bihar and eastern India.
“We are committed to strengthening Bihar’s digital infrastructure and building a robust IT ecosystem through our future-ready data centres, designed to serve the evolving needs of hyperscalers, enterprises, and startups,” said Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters.
He credited the Bihar government’s policies, business environment and incentives for supporting the company’s investment in the state.
“Together with our ecosystem partners, we are bringing significant investments into Bihar while creating new employment opportunities and contributing to the region’s economic growth,” Pinnapureddy said.
The company said the new facility would support demand for digital infrastructure in Bihar and eastern India. Its plans also include establishing more than 20 edge data centres across tier-2 and tier-3 cities in India over the coming years.
Edge data centres place computing infrastructure closer to users, helping reduce latency for applications that require faster data processing. The expansion is part of CtrlS Datacenters’ strategy to extend its network to emerging demand centres.
CtrlS Datacenters, which began operations in 2007, operates 19 data centres across nine markets in India. The company plans to build more than 4.4 GW of data centre capacity by 2030 and is exploring expansion into overseas markets in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with Thailand identified as its first international market.
