Nikhil Kamath, Co-founder of Zerodha, and entrepreneur Sreeram Reddy Vanga, have invested a combined ₹250 crore in CtrlS Datacenters.

Kamath has invested ₹200 crore, while Vanga has invested ₹50 crore, according to CtrlS.

The latest investment from Kamath and Vanga will fund infrastructure expansion and capacity build-out, particularly as demand from enterprises and hyperscalers increases. CtrlS founder and CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy said the capital would allow the company to “think bigger, move faster” as it builds infrastructure for India's next phase of digital growth.

“Every meaningful technology shift of the next decade—AI, cloud, and digital public infrastructure- runs on data centres. India is at an inflexion point where the underlying infrastructure either keeps pace or becomes the bottleneck,” said Kamath.

The investment comes two months after Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) committed up to ₹7,000 crore to CtrlS.

The deal included a ₹4,000-crore investment for an 8.2% stake in CtrlS at a pre-money valuation of ₹44,824 crore (C$6.6 billion), while another ₹3,000 crore was committed to a separate joint venture to develop hyperscale data centre campuses across India.

CtrlS currently operates 19 data centres across nine markets in India, with more than 370 MW of capacity. The company has another 4.4 GW of projects at different stages of development. It is also developing AI-ready infrastructure to support higher-density computing workloads.

According to ICRA, CtrlS’s operating income rose about 17% to ₹1,562 crore in FY2025, from ₹1,339 crore in FY2024. The ratings agency expects revenue to grow 20–25% annually in FY2026 and FY2027, supported by contracted capacity.

The company has been increasing its financing commitments alongside this expansion.

In July, CtrlS secured ₹5,500 crore in debt financing from State Bank of India and Central Bank of India for a planned 3.5 GW data centre campus in Hyderabad. SBI sanctioned ₹4,000 crore, while Central Bank of India committed ₹1,500 crore.

CtrlS was founded by Pinnapureddy in 2007 and has built a large Indian footprint spanning hyperscale, colocation and edge data centres.
