Infosys has partnered with US-based healthcare provider Sentara to deploy artificial intelligence across its enterprise operations, marking another AI-focused transformation engagement for the country’s second-largest IT services company.
Under the collaboration, Infosys will help Sentara, which operates as a not-for-profit organisation, build an enterprise AI foundation spanning IT systems, hospital operations and clinical support using its AI platform, Infosys Topaz Fabric.
The engagement aims to move AI initiatives from pilot projects to production-scale deployments across the healthcare organisation.
The partnership will focus on identifying AI use cases across care management, employee productivity and digital patient-facing services, while putting in place governance and operational frameworks required for responsible AI deployment in regulated healthcare environments.
“As we continue to advance our digital strategy, working with Infosys enables us to take a thoughtful and scalable approach to AI adoption across the enterprise. This collaboration helps ensure AI is deployed in ways that genuinely improve how our hospital teams work, supporting efficiency, care delivery and the communities we serve while remaining secure, compliant and patient-centred,” Jamisson Fowler, SVP and Chief Digital Officer, Sentara said in a statement.
The deal comes as Indian IT services companies increasingly position themselves as partners for enterprise AI adoption rather than providers of standalone AI tools.
Large vendors, including Infosys, TCS, Wipro and HCLTech, have been signing AI transformation engagements across industries as enterprises shift from experimentation to deploying AI at scale.
“Healthcare organisations are at a pivotal moment where AI can meaningfully enhance clinical and operational outcomes when it is adopted responsibly and at scale,” Venky Ananth, EVP and Global Head, Healthcare, Infosys, said.
Sentara operates 12 hospitals across Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina, employs around 34,000 people and serves more than one million health plan members across Virginia and Florida.
The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the engagement.
