Lincoln Educational Services Corporation, which operates Lincoln Tech, is deploying AI agents across its enrolment operations through its partnership with LeadSquared, an AI-powered CRM platform provider, focusing on student engagement, application processing and follow-ups.

The deployment extends the organisation’s existing customer relationship management (CRM) partnership into applied AI. LeadSquared is rolling out the first agents through its innovation centre, LeadEdge, with human oversight and defined operating rules governing their actions.

Lincoln Tech operates 22 campuses across 12 US states and served more than 17,000 students in 2025. Founded in 1946, the institution offers programmes in skilled trades, automotive, health sciences and information technology.

The AI agents will initially target stages of the enrolment process where delays or a lack of follow-up could cause prospective students to disengage. These include responding to new enquiries, identifying applicants ready to proceed, checking applications for accuracy and completeness, and reconnecting with prospective students who have stopped responding.

The system will also provide enrolment leaders with visibility into changes in student engagement and enrolment activity.

The two organisations plan to measure the agents’ performance against Lincoln Tech’s existing operations before expanding their use to other stages of the student journey. They have not disclosed specific performance targets or projected improvements in enrolment.

“Our goal is to make it easier for prospective students to take the next step towards a career they can build on,” said Jay Rasmussen, Senior Vice President of admissions at Lincoln Tech.

“By applying AI thoughtfully within the admissions process, we can help our teams respond faster, identify where a student may need additional support, and provide a more consistent experience, while keeping our admissions professionals at the centre of the relationship,” he added.

Rasmussen said the partnership would provide a measurable approach to improving student engagement and helping more prospective students move from enquiry to enrolment.

The organisations said governance would remain central to the deployment. Each AI agent will operate within a defined scope, follow established rules and maintain an audit trail of its actions. Human oversight will remain in place for key decisions, with the agents’ autonomy expanding only after their performance has been evaluated.

The approach is intended to give Lincoln Tech visibility into the actions taken by the AI systems while allowing the institution to assess their effectiveness before extending their responsibilities.

For LeadSquared, the project is part of its effort to move AI applications from experimentation into business operations.

“For Lincoln Tech, the collaboration reflects a broader commitment to embracing emerging technology in service of its students and its mission,” said Prithwi Dasgupta, President of North America at LeadSquared.

“For LeadSquared, it demonstrates how LeadEdge partners with leading organisations to move AI from concept to real operational impact, responsibly, measurably, and with people at the centre,” he added.
