Marking its entry into the AI Factory business, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a deployment to build a 10,000-GPU NVIDIA B300 AI Factory for US-based AI cloud company Together AI, the company announced on August 13.
“Artificial Intelligence is becoming foundational to every industry and AI Factories will power this transformation,” said S N Subrahmanyan, Chairman & Managing Director, Larsen & Toubro. “Our deployment of an NVIDIA B300 AI Factory for Together AI marks a significant milestone in L&T's Gigawatt AI Infrastructure Mission and reinforces our commitment to making India a global hub for next-generation AI infrastructure.”
Vyoma.AI, an L&T company, will undertake the deployment through its AI infrastructure subsidiary LTN Compute. The AI Factory will support Together AI's AI Native Cloud platform for large-scale inference, fine-tuning and training workloads.
The infrastructure will be hosted at Vyoma.AI's Chennai data centre campus, which L&T describes as a gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure site. Phase 1 of the campus is designed for 250 MW capacity, with power infrastructure readiness of 150 MVA, providing capacity for future AI Factory expansion, according to the company.
The integrated AI Factory will have capacity for 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs. L&T said the platform combines hyperscale data centre infrastructure, accelerated computing, high-performance networking, ultra-low-latency interconnects, high-throughput parallel storage and AI infrastructure operations.
The combination is designed to allow customers to deploy and scale AI workloads through a unified, end-to-end AI infrastructure stack, according to L&T.
L&T described the deployment as India's largest single-cluster AI infrastructure. The company said the project supports its broader Gigawatt AI Infrastructure Mission to build large-scale AI infrastructure in India.
"Making AI globally accessible is going to be the biggest infrastructure build-out in human history, and L&T understands that. That's exactly why we partnered with them, to bring the scale, resilience and engineering excellence this moment demands to India," said Vipul Ved Prakash, Co-founder and CEO of Together AI.
LTN Compute, operating under Vyoma.AI, is building AI-ready digital infrastructure across India through hyperscale AI data centres, sovereign cloud platforms, AI Factory services, GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS), and managed AI platforms. The company said these offerings are intended to support governments, enterprises, cloud providers, and AI innovators.
L&T said the Chennai campus's power infrastructure readiness leaves room for additional AI Factory capacity as demand for AI computing grows in India.
