The Madhya Pradesh government is exploring the use of AI to strengthen governance and improve citizen service delivery, following discussions between senior state officials and Gnani.ai Founder Ananth Nagaraj.

The Bengaluru-based voice AI startup last raised $10 million in a Series B funding round led by Aavishkaar Capital, an impact-focused fund manager, in March this year.

In a LinkedIn post, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav mentioned that the meeting focused on leveraging AI-powered technologies, including voice AI, multilingual citizen service platforms, digital document management systems, and sector-specific solutions for agriculture, healthcare, and rural development.

The discussions focused on how emerging technologies can help improve accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness in public service delivery.

"Had a productive discussion with Ananth Nagaraj, Founder of Gnani.ai, at Vallabh Bhavan on leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance governance and citizen service delivery in Madhya Pradesh," the chief minister posted.

Speaking about the engagement, state officials emphasised the government's commitment to adopting innovative technologies that can make governance more citizen-centric while improving administrative efficiency.

The deliberations also examined the potential of multilingual AI solutions to bridge language barriers and expand access to government services, particularly for citizens in rural and underserved regions.

They identified voice-based interfaces and AI-enabled document management systems as key areas that could streamline interactions between citizens and government departments.

The initiative aligns with the broader national push towards digital governance and the adoption of indigenous technology solutions. Madhya Pradesh officials reiterated the state's focus on integrating innovation into governance frameworks to improve service delivery outcomes.

The discussions come at a time when several state governments are increasingly evaluating AI-driven tools to modernise public administration, improve operational efficiency, and deliver services at scale.

In May, CM Yadav held discussions with senior officials from Google Cloud India on strengthening administrative efficiency through AI-driven technologies.
