Nurix AI Acquires Verloop.io, Expanding AI Agents Across Voice and Chat

Enterprise AI startup Nurix AI has acquired conversational AI company Verloop.io, as it looks to build a broader platform for deploying AI agents across voice- and chat-based customer interactions.

The Bengaluru-based company said the acquisition combines its voice AI platform, NuPlay, with Verloop.io’s chat automation capabilities and enterprise customer base across India and the Middle East. 

Nurix AI, founded by Mukesh Bansal, builds AI agents for enterprise workflows, focusing on customer engagement and operational automation. The company is backed by Accel, General Catalyst, and Prosus.

Verloop.io, founded by Gaurav Singh, has built conversational AI products for sectors including banking, fintech, retail, and telecommunications. The company says it currently powers more than 20 million customer interactions each month.

The deal comes as enterprises move beyond experimenting with generative AI tools and begin deploying agents in production environments. While voice agents are increasingly being used for customer support, sales and collections, chat-based interfaces remain central to digital customer journeys, particularly in messaging-first markets such as India and the Middle East.

Through the acquisition, Nurix plans to support enterprises with AI agents that can handle both synchronous voice interactions and asynchronous chat-led workflows. The company said this could be particularly relevant for high-volume use cases in financial services and retail, where businesses need to manage customer conversations across multiple channels.

Verloop.io’s team and operations will become part of Nurix AI. Singh will join Nurix’s leadership team and help shape product strategy, enterprise go-to-market efforts, and develop the company’s next-generation AI agents.
