Proximal Cloud on May 12 announced a strategic partnership with NxtGen to enable secure, compliant, and scalable sovereign AI deployments for enterprises and government organisations in India.
Under the collaboration, NxtGen will support Proximal Cloud’s enterprise AI platform, including its flagship Enterprise Deep Research platform, which is designed to help organisations manage data sprawl across complex enterprise systems and build intelligence layers for private data.
The companies said the partnership is aimed at enabling deployment-ready AI systems for government and regulated sectors, allowing organisations to adopt advanced AI capabilities while adhering to evolving regulatory and security requirements.
The collaboration will focus on addressing challenges related to compliance, data sovereignty and operational control. By combining Proximal Cloud’s ‘data-adjacent AI’ approach with NxtGen’s cloud and infrastructure capabilities, enterprises and institutions will be able to deploy AI systems within locally governed environments designed to ensure security, reliability and alignment with regulatory mandates.
Renu Raman, Founder and CEO of Proximal Cloud, said, “Bringing AI to where data resides is central to enabling secure and scalable adoption. Our collaboration with NxtGen allows organisations to deploy advanced AI capabilities within environments that meet stringent regulatory and operational requirements, while maintaining full control over their data.”
AS Rajgopal, Managing Director and CEO of NxtGen, said, “For government bodies and regulated enterprises, sovereign AI is now a baseline requirement. NxtGen has spent years building the infrastructure, compliance depth, and operational frameworks that make this a reality for Indian organisations rather than a roadmap item. Our collaboration with Proximal Cloud puts that foundation to work, giving institutions in the most accountability-driven sectors the ability to deploy advanced AI capabilities on Indian soil, under Indian control, without compromise.”
The announcement comes amid growing demand from enterprises and public sector organisations for sovereign AI infrastructure that enables local data governance, compliance and secure deployment of AI workloads within India.
