Razorpay has become the Indian payments partner for Replit, integrating its payment infrastructure into the global AI software platform to allow local subscriptions and in-app monetisation for Indian users.
The companies said the partnership will allow Indian customers to pay for Replit subscriptions in INR using UPI and cards, while enabling developers building on Replit to accept UPI and card payments.
Razorpay will handle compliance, foreign exchange and USD settlements, allowing Replit to operate without setting up a local entity in India.
Replit will roll out Razorpay’s International Payments Suite in beta, enabling cross-border subscriptions to be converted to a local payments experience for Indian users. At the same time, Razorpay’s payment stack will be embedded in Replit’s platform, allowing applications built with Replit Agent to integrate payments during the development process.
India processes over 20 billion UPI transactions every month, with UPI accounting for around 85% of all digital payments, alongside billions of card transactions, according to the companies. The integration aims to allow AI-built applications to accept UPI at launch and scale across India.
Under the arrangement, a developer using Replit can prompt the platform to create an application, such as a personal finance assistant, and have Razorpay’s monetisation layer embedded within the build flow. The developer can then begin accepting payments from Indian users.
Harshil Mathur, CEO and Co-Founder of Razorpay, said, “AI isn’t just another tech wave; it’s changing how products are built and how businesses come to life. In India, that shift is happening right now, but monetisation is often the missing piece.”
“With Replit, we’re bringing monetisation directly into the creation process, so that builders can go from an idea to a paid product, instantly and compliantly,” he added.
Amjad Masad, CEO and Founder of Replit, said India is now the company’s second-largest market by number of builders.
“It’s now our second-largest country in terms of number of builders, and we’re seeing incredible momentum from Indian builders adopting Replit Agent to launch microbusinesses at remarkable speed,” Masad said.
“As we expand in India, it’s critical that our platform reflects the realities of the local market. We believe in working with skilled partners who bring deep regional expertise and infrastructure, and Razorpay’s leadership in India’s payments ecosystem makes them a natural partner for this next phase of growth,” he added.
The announcement builds on Razorpay’s recent collaborations with global AI companies, including work with OpenAI and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) on agent-driven payment flows.
