Samsung Electronics announced on August 13 the completion of a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) manufacturing facility in Pune, operated by FläktGroup, a subsidiary of Samsung. The facility is intended to strengthen Samsung’s HVAC manufacturing in India and support customers across India and the wider Asia-Pacific region, including AI data centre operators.
“The completion of the production line in Pune marks a significant milestone in expanding our HVAC supply beyond India to the broader Asia-Pacific region,” said Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliance Business at Samsung Electronics. “By combining Samsung’s AI and platform technologies with FläktGroup’s HVAC expertise, we will deliver exceptional value to a diverse range of customers, including AI data centres.”
The Pune facility is the first new FläktGroup manufacturing facility to become operational since Samsung completed its acquisition of the HVAC specialist in November 2025. Samsung said the site is located near Mumbai and has major logistics infrastructure, which will help FläktGroup supply HVAC solutions more quickly to customers in India and across the Asia-Pacific region.
Samsung said the Pune facility will manufacture FläktGroup products including air handling units (AHUs), fan wall units (FWUs) and computer room air handlers (CRAHs) for AI data centres and other critical infrastructure. AHUs use chilled water to cool indoor environments while helping maintain air quality and are widely used in data centres and large commercial buildings.
FWUs use multiple high-capacity fans to remove heat from server environments, while CRAHs provide precision temperature, humidity and air-quality management for mission-critical IT equipment, according to Samsung.
The facility, including its production line, offices and auxiliary facilities, covers approximately 13,826 square meters. Samsung said the facility moved from equipment installation to mass production in six months, while FläktGroup plans to progressively expand production capacity to as many as 6,500 HVAC units annually.
The Pune operation builds on FläktGroup’s existing manufacturing presence in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Samsung said the two facilities will strengthen local manufacturing and improve customer responsiveness in India and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The Pune facility also forms part of FläktGroup’s broader manufacturing expansion in India. The company announced the Pune investment as Project GAGAN in May 2026, describing the site as a base to meet the demand for serving data centres and other critical infrastructure in India and across Asian markets.
Samsung said combining FläktGroup’s HVAC and critical-cooling expertise with Samsung’s AI and technology capabilities, global reach and scale is intended to accelerate the development and delivery of cooling solutions for AI data centres and other high-growth infrastructure sectors.
