HP, the technology hardware company, and AI startup Sarvam, which is building models across voice and language, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to bring Sarvam's AI capabilities to HP devices at scale.
The companies said the collaboration is designed around how people in the country speak and work, while making everyday computing more natural, multilingual, and accessible.
Ipsita Dasgupta, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, HP India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, said, "AI adoption will depend on how naturally the technology fits into the way people already work and learn. By bringing Sarvam's AI capabilities to HP devices, we can make these experiences more accessible across languages and everyday computing tasks."
The first area of this collaboration is Kivi, a voice app powered by Sarvam. According to HP and Sarvam, Kivi lets users speak to their computer to get things done across the applications they already use, including dictating instead of typing, drafting or rewriting content, searching for information, and getting help with tasks.
The companies said Kivi supports more than 22 Indian languages and allows code-switching, letting users interact with their PC in the way they already speak. HP and Sarvam said this is intended to create a simpler, faster, and more accessible computing experience, particularly for people who find typing or navigating traditional interfaces difficult. The companies said they will bring Kivi to HP devices at scale.
While voice is the first area of collaboration, HP and Sarvam said the MoU envisions a deeper partnership as AI reshapes what people expect from their computers and what the PC itself can do. The companies said they aim to bring a broader set of AI experiences across the devices and workflows people rely on every day, over time.
Pratyush Kumar, Co-founder, Sarvam, added, "The PC remains the primary interface through which much of the world gets work done. Voice offers a more natural way to interact with it. By bringing Sarvam's voice and language capabilities to HP devices, we can make that interaction available across the applications people already use every day."
