US-based software company Progress Software has unveiled Flowmon 13.0, the latest version of its network detection and response (NDR) platform, designed to help organisations tackle increasingly sophisticated cyber threats across hybrid IT and operational technology environments.
The updated platform combines artificial intelligence, machine learning, and high-speed analytics to deliver faster threat detection, deeper network visibility, and improved security outcomes, the company said.
Flowmon 13 seeks to address the limitations of monitoring tools with a redesigned analytics engine that enhances detection accuracy and enables more efficient investigation of potential threats.
According to the company, the new backend architecture delivers up to seven times faster query performance, significantly reducing the time required to analyse network traffic and respond to incidents. Enhanced behavioural analytics and AI-driven detection capabilities are intended to help teams identify anomalies more quickly and act with greater precision.
The platform also introduces a new investigation framework that allows analysts to create interconnected workflows, reuse variables across queries, and navigate between datasets. These investigations can be saved and shared, improving collaboration and streamlining forensic analysis.
A modernised alerting system uses dynamic, stream-based monitoring to identify behavioural patterns that static systems often miss, helping reduce false positives and alert fatigue. Expanded protocol support and improved data enrichment further provide greater context across cloud, IT and OT environments, the company added.
“As networks grow more distributed and threats become harder to detect, organisations need greater speed and clarity from their security platforms,” John Yang, Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan, Progress Software, said in a statement.
Sundar Subramanian, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Infrastructure Management, described the release as a significant step forward in scaling network detection and response through AI-driven insights.
Flowmon’s capabilities are complemented by IT network monitoring software WhatsUp Gold, which provides broader infrastructure monitoring. Together, the tools offer unified visibility into network performance and availability
