TCS Eyes Deeper Ties with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral Beyond Traditional GTM

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is reshaping how it partners with leading AI innovators, moving beyond traditional go-to-market arrangements to build deeper, multi-layered strategic collaborations as enterprise AI adoption scales.

Speaking during the company’s earnings call, Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian said TCS is building broad-based alliances across the AI ecosystem, including with OpenAI, Anthropic and Mistral AI, as it looks to embed AI across infrastructure, platforms and industry solutions.

“I think with all the model companies, we are building strategic partnerships,” she said. “We have announced with OpenAI, we are already working significantly with Anthropic, and will be announcing strategic partnerships with them in the near future. We are very closely working with Mistral.”

Subramanian said these partnerships are being structured differently from earlier models, with a sharper focus on long-term value creation rather than narrow commercial arrangements. “We are all trying to shape this partnership differently than the traditional GTM partnerships of the past. So, we want to make 360-degree partnerships, not just one,” she said.

Subramanian said the company’s engagements with hyperscalers and frontier AI model companies have also matured beyond early-stage exploration. “Our engagements… have moved beyond early exploration into design alignment, security frameworks, site due diligence and commercial structuring,” she said.

At the core of this shift is a broader four-pillar approach spanning infrastructure, enterprise deployment, joint innovation and go-to-market collaboration. A key element is infrastructure-led engagement, enabled by TCS’s investments in platforms such as HyperVault, which also allows AI model providers to become customers.

“Because of our investment in HyperVault, we have a very unique opportunity where they can become our customers,” Subramanian said. “You saw the announcement that we made with OpenAI, where there is a committed capacity of 100 megawatts, and an opportunity to grow that to one gigawatt.”

Beyond infrastructure, TCS is also focusing on integrating partner technologies within enterprise environments, including offerings such as ChatGPT Enterprise and solutions built on partner cloud platforms. The company is also working with partners to co-develop industry-specific AI solutions, alongside targeted go-to-market initiatives.

The shift in partnerships comes as enterprise AI adoption gathers pace. Subramanian said FY26 marked a turning point for the industry. “FY26 was a pivotal year for enterprise AI adoption… the shift from experimentation to scaled AI deployment showed a marked improvement,” she said, adding that AI is now “a core part of our every customer conversation.”
