Tech Mahindra has announced the launch of a next-generation services portfolio that places AI at the heart of enterprise application development and modernisation. The Agentic Development & Modernisation Services (ADMS) offering is strategic pivot for the Pune-headquartered firm, which is betting on autonomous AI to reshape how organisations manage their software estates.
The launch carries symbolic weight beyond its technical scope. Tech Mahindra is deliberately repurposing the familiar industry acronym ADMS, long associated with Application Development and Maintenance Services, to now stand for Agentic Development and Modernisation Services.
The rebranding reflects a broader industry shift away from traditional, labour-intensive software delivery models towards intelligent, self-adapting systems that require far less human intervention.
At its core, the portfolio is built around four interconnected pillars. The first focuses on platform modernisation, helping enterprises rebuild ageing infrastructure into modular, API-first architectures capable of supporting AI-driven processes. The second pillar, agentic software engineering, embeds AI agents directly into development and DevSecOps workflows, with the goal of improving delivery speed and engineering quality.
The third area addresses autonomous operations, bringing together intelligent automation, knowledge graphs, and AIOps capabilities to enable real-time monitoring and self-healing system environments. The fourth pillar centres on what Tech Mahindra calls an Autonomous Quality Fabric, a continuous, agent-driven approach to quality assurance that runs in parallel with DevOps pipelines.
The portfolio is underpinned by a suite of proprietary platforms and accelerators, including Swifter.io, AppGinieZ, Reforge, and LitmusT. Delivery will follow what the company terms a Vector Squad model, pairing human engineers with AI agents.
Tech Mahindra is also introducing a "Service Tokens" pricing mechanism, designed to offer clients greater modularity in how they consume services and more predictable cost structures, a move likely aimed at making enterprise AI adoption more commercially accessible.
Kunal Purohit, President of Next Gen Verticals at Tech Mahindra, highlighted the scale of the opportunity the company is positioning itself to capture. “This will be driven by the rising demand for intelligent operations, autonomous software engineering, and outcome-driven transformation,” Purohit said. “With Agentic Development & Modernisation Services, Tech Mahindra is helping enterprises accelerate this transition by enabling more adaptive, resilient, and context-aware application ecosystems that define the future of autonomous enterprises.”
The announcement arrives as competition intensifies among global IT services providers to stake out credible positions in agentic AI.
For Tech Mahindra, which employs more than 147,000 professionals across 90-plus countries and serves over 1,100 clients worldwide, the launch represents an attempt to move up the value chain at a moment when traditional application management work faces commoditisation pressure.
The company frames the initiative as consistent with its wider ambition to help clients transition from conventional digital environments to what it describes as intelligent, composable, AI-native ecosystems.
