Citizens Financial Group, one of the oldest and largest financial institutions in the US, has collaborated with Infosys to support the launch of its AI-first Innovation Hub in Bengaluru. The companies describe the partnership as an industry-first initiative in banking-led AI adoption.
Under the collaboration, Infosys will serve as one of Citizens’ delivery partners for AI development, contributing expertise across AI, cloud, and cybersecurity.
The partnership is intended to accelerate the bank’s AI platform and next-generation banking capabilities, while strengthening its broader AI-first operating model.
The Innovation Hub will leverage Infosys Topaz Fabric, a specialised agentic services suite built on a multi-layer AI fabric that integrates infrastructure, models, data, applications and workflows into an agent-ready ecosystem.
According to the companies, this will support the development of scalable, agent-ready capabilities designed to simplify and speed up the delivery of new financial products and digital services.
The initiative builds on an existing AI transformation partnership between Citizens Financial Group and Infosys, which has focused on advancing innovation and enhancing customer service.
With its Bengaluru hub, Citizens Financial Group aims to deepen the integration of AI and advanced technologies across its technology ecosystem, while cultivating a highly skilled global workforce.
The collaboration is also positioned as a step towards reinforcing Citizens Financial Group’s identity as a technology-driven regional bank, while highlighting Infosys’ experience in developing AI-enabled operating models for financial institutions.
Michael Ruttledge, chief information officer and head of enterprise technology and security at Citizens Financial Group, said, “Partnering with leading technology firms like Infosys and leveraging Infosys Topaz Fabric is helping transform how we serve our customers by integrating advanced AI at the core of our operations to deliver more modern, secure, and personalised banking experiences.”
Dennis Gada, executive vice president and global head of banking and financial services at Infosys, said that financial institutions today face the dual challenge of rapid modernisation and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
“Our collaboration with Citizens Financial Group marks a significant step in their growth journey, enabling them to adopt an AI-first operating model and become future-ready.”
