Wipro has expanded its partnership with data and artificial intelligence (AI) platform provider Databricks and launched a self-contained business practice to help enterprises modernise their data infrastructure and deploy AI applications at scale.

The new Databricks-focused practice will develop industry-specific AI solutions by combining Databricks' data and AI platform with Wipro's own AI offerings and delivery capabilities.

The initiative, according to a stock exchange filing, is intended to help customers move from fragmented data environments and experimental AI projects to enterprise-wide AI deployments.

As part of the collaboration, Wipro will integrate Databricks' capabilities in agentic AI, data modernisation, analytics, and application development with its Wipro Intelligence suite and agent-native delivery platform WEGA to modernise legacy systems and build AI-ready data architectures.

“Our long-standing collaboration with Databricks reflects a shared commitment to help enterprises move from AI experimentation to measurable value,” Kanwar Singh, Managing Partner - Technology Services, Wipro, said in a statement. “The business practice will bring together platform specialists, consulting expertise, and industry teams to co-create solutions that accelerate data transformation and enterprise-wide AI adoption.”

The company did not disclose the financial terms of the partnership.

The partnership will initially focus on developing AI-led offerings across wealth management, manufacturing planning, telecom sales and marketing, energy asset management, and finance transformation.

“This global practice with Wipro will enable enterprises to build trusted data foundations and deploy production-ready AI at scale, turning data intelligence into real, measurable business impact,” said Kori O’Brien, Senior Vice President, Partnerships, Databricks.

The announcement comes as Indian IT services firms deepen alliances with hyperscalers and AI platform providers to capture growing enterprise demand for agentic AI and data modernisation projects.
