Wipro has expanded its partnership with cybersecurity firm Palo Alto Networks to launch artificial intelligence-powered managed detection and response (MDR) services, as enterprises look to strengthen defences against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.
The new offering combines Palo Alto Networks' Cortex XSIAM security operations platform with the IT services major’s managed security services capabilities, enabling enterprises to automate threat detection and response across complex IT environments.
The move comes as demand for AI-driven cybersecurity tools is rising amid growing concerns over attacks that leverage AI. Concerned by the possibility of a Mythos-class attack after Anthropic previewed Claude Mythos, enterprises are now seeking to consolidate security tools and reduce operational complexity while improving incident response times.
According to Wipro, the offering uses machine learning, AI, and automation to identify and respond to threats more quickly, while helping security teams focus on high-priority incidents.
The service will be delivered through Wipro's network of eight cyber defence centres globally.
“As organisations navigate a rapidly evolving landscape marked by accelerated AI adoption, the need for robust governance and strategic cost management has never been greater,” Satish Yadavalli, Global Business Head - Cloud, Infrastructure, and Security Services, Wipro, said in a statement.
The expanded engagement builds on an existing relationship between the two companies spanning cloud, network, and security transformation projects. Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed.
“Our combined capabilities empower mutual customers to consolidate tools, eliminate data silos, and leverage AI and automation to reduce noise, accelerate response from days to minutes, and ultimately stop even the most sophisticated threats,” said Simone Gammeri, Senior Vice President and Chief Partnership Officer at Palo Alto Networks.
Wipro said the service is supported by its internal AI platforms and automation tools, which are used for workflow orchestration and security operations management. The company also cited a recent deployment with a European gaming and entertainment company, where the partners helped modernise security operations and improve productivity.
