At the ongoing Computex 2021 event, Intel introduced two additions to 11th Gen Intel Core processors. Intel claimed the new processors are ideal for thin and lightweight Windows-based laptops. The chip giant also introduced Intel 5G Solution 5000, its first 5G product for the next generation PCs.
The 11th Gen Intel Core processor-based laptops will have the following features:
- Up to 5GHz in high-volume thin and light designs
- Up to 25 percent better performance than competitors
- Support for Intel® Wi-Fi 6/6E (Gig+) for improved connectivity
- Eight times faster transcoding and twice the video editing speed due to ISV optimisations
- 1080p gameplay and 2.7 higher frame rate on new titles such as Valheim
“We’ve taken the world’s best processor for thin-and-light Windows laptops and made the experience even better with the addition of our two new 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Intel® Iris® Xe graphics. In addition, we know real-world performance and connectivity are vital to our partners and the people who rely on PCs every day, so we’re continuing that momentum with more platform capabilities and choice in the market with the launch of our first 5G product for PCs: the Intel 5G Solution 5000,” said Chris Walker, Intel corporate vice president and general manager of Mobility Client Platforms
More than 60 Intel Core i7 & i5-1195G7-based designs will be available through laptop vendors such as Acer, ASUS, Lenovo, and MSI by this summer. Further, up to 250 11th Gen Intel Core U-series processors designs are expected by this holiday season.
