Everyone is creating their own personalised GPT and the most important one just dropped. LLM Course GPT is here, which is an interactive chatbot built on custom GPT available on the GPT Store, trained on LLM course data.

The model is created by Maxime Labonne, who is an open source enthusiast and also a machine learning scientist at JPMorgan. It leverages code interpreters to create a mini-RAG pipeline and retrieves the relevant context to answer questions.
This comes just a week after Labonne completed the LLM Course, which is a GitHub repository containing three courses for LLM Fundamentals, LLM Scientist, and LLM Engineer, for different levels and stages of building and applying LLMs for use cases. The LLM Course GPT is built using this course.
The course and the GPT offers a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to build LLMs and using it for building applications using it.
Recently, Labonne also created Phixtral, which combines the competence of Mistral’s Mixture of Experts model and Microsoft’s Phi-2.
Labonne spoke with AIM in an exclusive interview and expressed his passion for building open source models and teaching people how to build models.
“In the long run, open source is [going to be] too powerful and there are way too many people who want to experiment with it right now,” Labonne said. He believes that eventually open source models will overtake the closed ones. “It is like there are monkeys with a typewriter – one of them will create a masterpiece at some point,” he quipped about open source developers, who are not bound by companies and academic institutions.
