
Dipayan Chakraborty, Senior Director at Flipkart Analytics has been appointed as Head of Analytics and Business Intelligence at Myntra. The move comes at a time when fashion e-commerce major, following the Walmart acquisition, saw restructuring and leadership changes in December 2018. Under the leadership of Walmart, Myntra is going global with its brands available online on Walmart Canada.
The key leadership hire further establishes Myntra’s strategy as a company experiencing hyper-growth under Walmart. The appointment is a strong indication of the online fashion player’s current go-to-market strategy and its plans to continue its global success.

At Myntra, Chakraborty will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytics and decision sciences to help the online fashion major meet its aggressive growth targets in a profitable manner. His extensive experience in building and scaling global delivery operations and strong leadership will drive Myntra through the next phase of growth.

Chakraborty brings in more than 16 years of IT and analytics experience as well as a decade in senior leadership positions at HSBC, Marketics Technologies and Bennet Coleman. A proven analytics leader with a decade of experience in building and leading high-performing teams, Chakraborty started TEG Analytics with senior partners in India and the US in 2010 and led global delivery teams across India and US.
In his prior role at Flipkart which he joined in 2015, he built and led the analytics teams for Category Management, Inventory Planning & Control, Marketplace Operations & Product Quality, Marketing, Central Planning and Fintech. A strong, experienced analytics executive, he was one of the most senior analytics leaders reporting to Chief Analytics Officer Ravi Vijayaraghavan.

Myntra received a big boost from the $16-billion investment in its parent company Flipkart from Walmart in May 2018. According to a news report, US retail giant Walmart will be taking Myntra’s private labels to its US online marketplace as well. The report further hints that the fashion e-tailer’s celebrity endorsed brands like HRX could also be sold online globally. Besides HRX, Myntra’s other private labels include Roadster, House of Pataudi and All About You.
In May 2018, Walmart, acquired a 77 percent controlling stake in Flipkart and its subsidiary Myntra in a bid to expand its international presence and also rival homegrown e-commerce giant Amazon on Indian turf. The acquisition saw the high profile exits of Flipkart founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal and also major restructuring changes. Post the Walmart acquisition, Myntra CEO Ananth Narayanan stepped down and Amar Nagaram took over as Head, Myntra and Jabong.
