Hitachi’s GlobalLogic announced the appointment of the firm’s current chief operating officer (COO), Nitesh Banga as the new president and the CEO, effective October 1, 2022.
Shashank Samant, the current CEO and president will be succeeded by Banga, as the former moves on to his new role as the chairman of the GlobalLogic Board. He will also serve as an executive advisor to Toshiaki Tokunaga, head of Hitachi Digital Systems and Services (DSS).
A seasoned executive, Banga has worked across functions from strategy, go-to-market, engineering, and operations, spending more than two decades at IT services and consulting firm Infosys.
Commenting on the appointment, Banga said, “It’s an honor and a great responsibility to lead GlobalLogic. As we enter our third decade, we have a unique opportunity to accelerate enterprise digital transformation backed by Hitachi’s incredible heritage, global reach, and trusted brand value.”
Having spent over a decade as CEO, Samant led GlobalLogic through strong growth phases, turning the company around from a group of elite software engineers to a global digital engineering leader, eventually becoming a part of the Hitachi Group.
