CES 2023 is one of the premier events when it comes to the consumer electronics space, and the upcoming one is no slouch either. NVIDIA and AMD have announced their presence at this event, with rumours placing Intel in the guest list as well.

CES, which stands for Consumer Electronics Show, has long been the stage for tech companies to present their new products. This year, over 300 Fortune 500 companies have registered for the event, including companies like Bosch Global, Canon, LG, Microsoft, Samsung, and more. The event will take place from January 5 to January 8, 2023; a date most tech enthusiasts have already saved in their calendars by now. Let’s delve deeper into what the top chip manufacturers have to offer for the next year.

NVIDIA

NVIDIA has announced that they will be conducting a virtual special address for CES 2023. This means that Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, will not be providing an in-person presentation at the venue, similar to last year’s CES. Instead, this will be a pre-recorded livestream where NVIDIA will launch their latest chips.

This year, the chip giant is purported to launch 2 products, the first being the GeForce RTX 4070Ti GPU. This chip will be an alternative to the flagship RTX 4080, offering slightly better performance when compared to the RTX 4070. The second suite of products will be the GeForce 40 series chips for laptops, a long awaited lineup for content creators and gamers alike. This series of chips will be an upgrade to the existing 30 series chips offered in laptops, bringing forward the generational advancements gained from the 40 series architecture.

AMD

Team Red has already put their cards on the table, with CEO Dr Lisa Su appearing in person at the event to announce their lineup of products. The CEO’s announcements will add more chips to the Ryzen lineup, namely the non-X desktop series for the Ryzen 7000 series. While these chips will be more economical compared to the existing Ryzen 7000 lineup, the cost savings will come at a slight cost to performance.

In addition to this, AMD will also introduce the Ryzen 7000 series for laptops, which will bring the new DDR5 compatible chips to mobile devices, along with the optimised 5nm architecture promising to improve efficiency and decrease power consumption. Rumours are circulating that they might announce RDNA3 mobile graphics at the event as well; a new paradigm for Ryzen iGPUs.

Intel

While Intel has remained mum until now regarding the announcements of their new product lineup, reputed leakers have found that they are gearing up to launch the new 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs at the event. First announced in September, this lineup of chips promises 6 GHz clock speeds out of the box. Currently, there are only 6 SKUs on the Raptor Lake lineup, but Intel is gearing up to launch non-overclockable versions of the same chips to capitalise on their cheaper prices.
