Cursor AI is a one-hit wonder tool which aimed to replace GitHub Copilot. Anysphere, the team that built it, is led by co-founder and CEO Michael Truell. With a background in statistical maths research, and LLM-driven recommendation systems, Truell studied at MIT. “I'm building Cursor to speed up software engineering.” That’s all that Truell cares about right now.
Now, even eight-year-old kids are able to make apps with Cursor, which stands for the legacy that Truell and his team at Anysphere have built. Raising seed funds from OpenAI Startup Fund, Cursor is giving every coding platform a run for their money, and every developer, the best tool to make software.
“In the next several years, our mission is to make programming an order of magnitude faster, more fun and creative.”
