However, mentorship proved to be beneficial for data scientists who are willing to get comprehensive guidance from experts of the industry. A good mentorship can not only help data science professionals to enhance their skills with continuous feedback but also help amateurs and newcomers by handholding them with their data science journey. 

Finding a good mentor is a struggle in itself, and that’s why Analytics India Magazine has recently launched a one-on-one mentorship network for data scientists — AIM Mentoring Circle. Amit Agarwal, India & Asia Pacific BI Head, NVIDIA

Amit Agarwal is a senior manager at Nvidia, who is also the BI head for the company for India and Asia Pacific region. With more than 22 years of experience, Agarwal has been currently leading the business intelligence space in NVIDIA. He has deep expertise in BI architecture, data mining, predictive analytics, information extraction as well as data analytics. Agarwal has done his bachelors in mechanical engineering from Vikram University and has finished his industrial engineering and management from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. Prior to NVIDIA, Agarwal was associated with several companies like Tech Mahindra, GrayMatter Software Services, Cisco, BMC Software, to name a few, and was responsible for creating best inline solutions for the businesses.

Anish Agarwal, Director – Data & Analytics, Royal Bank Of Scotland, India

Anish Agarwal is the director of data and analytics at the Royal Bank of Scotland with more than 19 years of overall experience and has been one of the influential leaders in the analytics industry. Agarwal has been recognised amongst ‘Top 100 Influential Leaders in Asian Analytics Industry’ and ‘Top 40 under 40 Data Scientists in India by Analytics India Magazine. With a proven ability to design and execute strategy with new technology adoption, Agarwal has held several positions of immense organisational importance with a principal focus on delivering value through innovative use of data-driven decision making. His expertise has been used in several industry conferences and authored papers on various areas of emerging technologies and advanced data science. Agarwal is an alumnus of Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan Business School and has been associated with RBS for the last five years. Agarwal has been an informed opinion leader and an expert in the concepts of data and analytics, project management, strategy, financial modelling and artificial intelligence.

Ashish Jethani, Data Scientist

Ashish Jethani is a data scientist with seven years of experience in programming, data analysis, machine learning, data visualisation, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, neural networks, big data and deep learning. Jethani is also skilled with tools and technologies like Matlab, SQL, C, R and C++, to name a few. With a bachelor of technology degree in electronics engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Jethani has worked with companies like Hitachi, Bosch, Mu Sigma and nexquare. During his tenure in Mu Sigma, Jethani was responsible for macro sales driver analysis, determining customer lifetime value, and developing customer dashboard. Along with that Jethani has also worked on identifying KPIs to analyse the gaps in end-customer demand; building framework to identify best forecasting technique at multiple hierarchical levels for various business KPIs, and creating a real-time dashboard to help sales teams monitor performance KPIs. Jethani also has expertise in developing big data applications, chatbot for descriptive analytics, and simulators to drive employment policies.

Netali Agrawal, Technology Lead, Infosys

Netali Agrawal is an experienced technology lead at Infosys, with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Netali is skilled in data analytics, machine learning, business intelligence, data visualisation, SQL and SDLC. With a strong information technology background, Netali comes from a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) background with specialisation in electrical, electronics and communications engineering from Global Institute of Technology. Currently, Netali has been associated with Infosys for the last six years and has been responsible for providing the best solution for businesses. Netali has done her post-graduation in data science from Great Lakes Institute of Management and has been associated with Capgemini for some three years prior to Infosys. With over ten years of experience, Rachna has been focused on delivering a great customer experience and building long-term partnerships with her clients to enable success.
