Top AI-based Phone Cameras Launched In 2019

Imagine your friend returning from a weekend trip, telling you about all the beautiful places she visited. Then like anyone else, she starts to show you those stunning photos, but as you’re scrolling down the album, you wonder, “When did someone who is a lousy photographer start taking such great pictures?” Let us bust the myth for you — it’s probably not her, its artificial intelligence. If you’ve ever thought about the intrinsic aspects of a photograph taken through a camera phone this year, then there’s a high possibility that it must be an AI-based phone camera. In this article, we are listing down top 6 cameraphones that created a buzz in the market this year.

1. iPhone 11 pro:

When Apple launched its new series of iPhone models this year, out of the three devices, the middle child — iPhone 11 pro came out as the best option. With both affordable price (for some people) and best specs with the triple camera lens setup, it has become a favourite.

With the iOS 13.2 update, Apple introduced Deep Fusion which is powered by neural network hardware called neural engine. This machine learning part helps the deep fusion feature to make it easier to capture photos in difficult situations, including low light and fast movement.

With features like wide selfies, enhanced night mode, deep fusion (iOS 13.2) and many more, iPhone has cemented itself as the best phone camera of 2019.

2. Google Pixel 4:

Some still say that Google Pixel 4 has a better camera than iPhone 11 pro, a valid argument. When Google launched its Pixel line, it was clear that their focus was on building the best camera phones. Google Pixel has an incredible camera, with its dual-camera setup with dual-LED flash with dual exposure.

Its AI-powered options like Live HDR Plus show you how your photos will look like before you press the shutter button and options like Night Sight which makes it one of the best low light camera phone photography phone.

When you compare it with iPhone 11 pro, it takes better photos at night with its night sight feature and in some scenes might capture the highlights better.

3. Huawei P30 Pro:

Released in March 2019, Huawei P30 Pro has impressed a lot of mobile phone camera users. Remember when I said Google Pixel 4 captures better photographs at night than iPhone 11 Pro? Huawei P30 Pro captures the best photos at night time.

Huawei, on this phone, has produced 10x zoom with combining the image data and the 40-megapixel image sensor.

Huwaei upped its algorithm game when they introduced the best low light AI-powered camera ever.

4. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus:

Samsung has not been far in the best phone race nor the best phone camera segment.

What’s good about this phone is that Samsung has an AI-powered option called ‘Shot Suggestion’ which analyses the shot in front of you and gives you suggestion, which is something every other phone does nowadays. Samsung takes it a step forward; it guides you about how to capture the photo. Like other top phones, this has an AI-powered option called Bright Night.

5. OnePlus 7T Pro:

With some upgrades to the previous model, OnePlus has introduced the triple camera set up with 48-megapixel image sensor. It uses a technique called ‘pixel binning’ to combine 4 pixels for one pixel and produce a sharper 12-megapixel photo. It has a telephoto camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera.

6. Google Pixel 3a:

Before the launch of Google Pixel 4, Pixel 3 had one of the best cameras in the segment. With a single-camera lens, it can outperform other camera phones present today and Google continues this trend with its Pixel 3a.

Pixel 3a is perhaps the best budget camera phone. It retains all the AI camera features from its predecessors like Night Sight. It also gets the astrography update like Pixel 4, Pixel 3 for Night Sight where the latest version makes it possible to take sharp and clear pictures of nighttime landscapes without any artificial light.

Since the augmentation of AI in the smartphone camera department, it has done most of the heavy lifting instead of a professional photographer. While professional photographers still might be able to do a better job because of their knowledge and a better understanding of the frames. The augmentation of AI in phone camera makes it really easy for amateurs to have that ‘professional’ touch to their photographs.
