1| Capgemini

Last month, Capgemini announced the company has planned to hire about 30,000 people in India in 2021, a mix of both freshers and laterals. According to sources, the Paris-based firm will hire talents across emerging digital skills such as cloud, engineering and research and development, artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, edge computing and cybersecurity. The company hired nearly 24,000 employees in India last year.

2| PayPal

PayPal recently announced it would hire more than 1,000 engineers for its development centres across Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad in 2021. According to sources, the hiring will be across software, product development, data science, risk analytics, and business analytics streams at entry, mid-level and senior roles. Furthermore, the US-based digital payments company has also announced its plan for campus hiring from top Indian engineering colleges.

Last month, KPMG in India announced the company is starting its hiring drive for digital professionals and seeks to hire approximately 1000 professionals in various domains. According to sources, the positions are open across the North, West, South regions across skillsets in the cloud, AI, cyber, data engineering, business intelligence and domain specialisation. The company also has plans to hire thousands of people in the coming years.

4|Infosys

Recently, Google introduced three new certificate courses focusing on data analyst, project manager, and user experience (UX) designer to help the unemployed in the US and Indian IT firms. Along with other IT firms, Infosys has agreed to onboard 500 graduates with Google Career Certificates over the next two years. The Indian multinational company had announced to hire 25,000 employees in the US by the year 2022. The latest announcement will help the company meet its target of 25,000 US employees by the next year.

5| Cognizant

After witnessing a sharp decline in employee numbers in 2020, Cognizant has stepped up its hiring efforts this year. The US-based company expects to hire more than 23,000 fresh graduates this year, and the hiring will be for both freshers and lateral talents. Last year, the company hired more than 17,000 fresh graduates from campuses.

Accenture and Verizon, Infosys, Walmart and Deloitte signed a deal with Google, stating to hire 500 employees who have done Google Career Certification, which includes three major courses, namely Project Management, UX Design, and Data Analytics.

Last February, Accenture said it would hire 150 mothers at its Midwest division. According to sources, the IT consulting firm will be hiring talents in technology, strategy and consulting out of the company’s offices in Chicago. Recently, Tech Mahindra announced that the company expects 5,000 freshers to join its workforce by June this year. According to sources, the IT major has already started hiring for the quarter through its campus recruitment programme and will be recruiting over the next two quarters.
