Agritech startup Unnati, in partnership with Paytm, has launched a unique digitally integrated card to help improve farmers’ income. The card is linked to Unnati’s platform and can be used to purchase seeds, fertilisers, and pesticides.
As per Unnati’s official statement, the card will increase farmers’ net incomes by helping them get better rates for the farm produce and agri inputs. The platform gives real-time updates on pay-outs, credit rates etc. The card can be obtained with a one-time, upfront payment of Rs 250.
Ashok Prasad, co-founder of Unnati, during the launch of the card, said, “We are proud to announce that Unnati is the first agri-tech startup to launch this kind of product. No other brand has launched anything that is so tightly integrated into a digital platform that also enables transactions yet. Our newly launched cards aim to enable farmers to avail top-quality products, improve their marketplace access, and boost their overall income. We will be introducing more such products soon.”
Unnati is a fintech powered digital farming company that offers end-to-end support for farmers across different farming processes–working capital, purchasing seeds, fertilisers, harvesting, and selling the produce. Unnati reaches farmers through its digitally enabled fulfilment partners across the country. Founded in 2017, Unnati has an active presence in four states. The company aims to reach one million farmers by the end of the year.
