Airtel Offers Perplexity Pro Worth ₹17,000 Free for One Year

Airtel, one of India's leading telecom providers, is offering a free one-year Perplexity Pro plan through the Airtel Thanks app on smartphones.

While AIM verified the offer on a postpaid subscription, many users on X have reported receiving it on prepaid plans as well.

Users can go to the ‘Rewards and OTTs’ section from the homepage of the Airtel Thanks app to find and redeem the offer.

Perplexity, an AI startup based in the US, offers web search services driven by AI models, among other features. It’s in direct competition with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. 

The Pro plan, valued at $200 (~₹17,000) annually, includes advanced AI search features such as access to powerful models like OpenAI’s o3, Claude 4.0, xAI’s Grok 4 and more. Users can access Pro and Reasoning search modes, file analysis, image generation, API credits, and priority support. 

Additionally, users can access the Labs feature, which uses advanced tools to manage complex projects involving report creation, spreadsheets, dashboards, and basic web apps.

Perplexity is available through the app on Android, iPhone, Windows, and Mac, as well as on a web browser. 

Additionally, Perplexity offers a Max plan, which costs $200 per month and provides unrestricted access to the platform.

This marks the second AI subscription offer for Indian users in just a few days. On July 15, Google announced a free one-year subscription to the company’s AI Pro plan for students aged 18 and over in the country. This would otherwise cost ₹19,500. 

This enables students in the country to access its most advanced AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, along with expanded access to Google’s AI products.

It includes tools like Deep Research with Gemini 2.5 Pro and NotebookLM, which offer five times more access, as well as the video generation tool Veo 3 integrated in Gemini and Flow, among other features.
