Hyderabad Emerges as Global Beauty Tech Hub with L’Oréal’s Largest GCC Investment

The new GCC represents an initial investment of ₹3,500 crore.

Hyderabad has added another milestone to its growing global innovation footprint with the launch of the world’s largest beauty tech global capability centre (GCC) by L’Oréal. The centre will house over 2,000 beauty tech engineers, marking a major expansion of the city’s role in advanced digital and AI-led innovation, as per the official source.

The new GCC represents an initial investment of ₹3,500 crore and reinforces Hyderabad’s position as one of the few global cities offering deep, sector-agnostic innovation capabilities. With this addition, the city’s GCC ecosystem now spans industries including hospitality, BFSI, life sciences, media, space tech, defence, capital markets, and now beauty tech.

Nicolas Hieronimus, CEO of L’Oréal, met with D Sridhar Babu, minister for IT and industries, Telangana, underscoring the strategic importance of the investment and the state’s focus on attracting high-value global capability centres.

The L’Oréal GCC is expected to play a critical role in driving the company’s global digital, AI, and technology-led beauty innovation, while further strengthening Hyderabad’s standing as a preferred destination for large-scale, innovation-driven GCCs.

Meanwhile, the city has attracted 40% of all new greenfield GCCs set up in India over the past three years—overtaking Bengaluru’s 33% share, according to Xpheno’s latest workforce research report. Hyderabad has quietly emerged as India’s second-largest product engineering GCC hub after Bengaluru, with a strong concentration of global teams building and owning core products across SaaS, cloud and data platforms, cybersecurity, EdTech and media technology, as well as life sciences-focused digital products.
