Accenture has appointed former McKinsey & Company partner Pradeep Prabhala as the lead of its India Market Unit, effective September 1, as the global consulting and technology services company doubles down on artificial intelligence-led transformation and India’s expanding GCC market.
Prabhala will lead Accenture’s India business, working with domestic clients on data and AI-led transformation initiatives while also supporting multinational companies setting up and expanding GCCs in the country, the company said in a statement on July 21.
The appointment comes as global consulting and IT services firms are increasingly repositioning their India operations beyond traditional outsourcing, focusing instead on AI deployment, digital transformation and GCC advisory services as enterprises ramp up technology investments.
Prabhala joins Accenture from McKinsey & Company, where he was a partner leading the firm’s consumer sector practice in India and agriculture practice across Asia.
Before that, he spent nearly a decade at Monitor Deloitte, advising companies on growth strategy, market expansion, mergers and acquisitions, and digital transformation.
In his new role, Prabhala will also help global clients build and scale GCCs, which have emerged as one of the fastest-growing segments of India’s technology and business services ecosystem, with multinational companies increasingly using them for engineering, AI, product development and innovation.
“India is a strategic market for Accenture, and we are focused on accelerating growth here. As clients deepen their focus on technology-led reinvention and unlocking new value from data and AI, we see tremendous opportunity to help them lead,” Arundhati Chakraborty, Global Lead, Finance and GCC and Executive Sponsor, India Market Unit, Accenture said in the statement.
Beyond his consulting career, Prabhala is an early-stage investor in AI, enterprise software and deep technology startups across India and the US.
