Mid-tier IT services firm Coforge has launched an enterprise AI platform that allows companies to build, fine-tune, deploy and operate AI systems within their own controlled environments, as businesses increasingly look to reduce dependence on individual model providers.
The platform, called Coforge AI Launchpad, is designed to work across cloud environments and allows enterprises to route workloads between open-weight and frontier AI models depending on business, regulatory, performance and cost considerations, the company said in a statement.
“Enterprise AI is entering a new phase where control matters as much as capability,” Lalit Wadhwa, Chief Technology Officer, Coforge, said in a statement. “Organisations need the optionality to leverage the best AI models available without creating new forms of technology dependency. Coforge AI Launchpad gives enterprises a governed foundation that preserves ownership of data, intellectual property, and AI environment while remaining flexible enough to adapt as the market evolves.”
The move comes as enterprises move beyond experimentation with generative AI and begin deploying AI systems in production, where issues around data sovereignty, governance, infrastructure and the availability of skilled talent have become bigger constraints.
Coforge said the transition from AI pilots to production remains difficult because of fragmented infrastructure, talent shortages and governance and auditability requirements. Its new offering, powered by its Nuuron platform, combines the underlying infrastructure with model engineering, deployment and managed services.
The platform is already being deployed by clients with stringent regulatory and data-sovereignty requirements. These include a sovereign AI environment for a US-based clinical healthcare intelligence company and an AI-routing deployment for a US bank that helped reduce AI operating costs while maintaining governance and auditability.
Coforge is positioning the offering around AI ownership and flexibility, rather than tying enterprises to a particular model or technology provider. This could become increasingly relevant as companies weigh the cost, performance and regulatory implications of using proprietary models versus open-weight alternatives.
The AI Launchpad comprises six broad service areas spanning strategy and advisory, infrastructure and platform, model engineering and customisation, deployment and integration, LLM operations and observability, and governance, FinOps and managed-run services.
For Coforge, the launch also expands its pitch from delivering AI-enabled applications and services to managing more of the underlying enterprise AI stack. The launch comes as Indian IT services companies increasingly reposition themselves around AI infrastructure, engineering and managed services, with clients looking for ways to capture AI-led productivity gains while keeping tighter control over data, costs and governance.
