Mid-tier IT services firm Coforge has launched a dedicated business unit focused on the private equity (PE) sector, seeking to tap growing demand from PE firms for technology-led operational improvements across their portfolio companies.
The move comes as private equity investors face changing market conditions, tougher valuations and longer holding periods, increasing the pressure to improve operating performance and create value within portfolio companies, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The new unit will draw on Coforge’s experience of integrating and turning around businesses it has acquired, including NIIT Technologies, Incessant Technologies, SLK Global, Cigniti Technologies and Encora. The company said the unit will use these acquisition and integration playbooks to help PE firms improve operational performance and scale growth.
“Our acquisition integration playbook has allowed us to leverage technology to create enterprise value at scale over the last decade. Consequently, this new business unit is aligned with our DNA as a company,” Preeti Singh, Executive Vice President and Head of North America, Coforge, said in a statement.
She added that private equity firms are moving from exploring AI opportunities to embedding AI-driven value creation into their investment strategies, and executing AI initiatives at scale across the portfolio is becoming a strategic differentiator that requires a repeatable, scalable model tied to measurable business outcomes.
The business will be powered by Coforge Nuuron, the company’s AI operating system and enterprise autonomy platform, and will combine technology, data, governance and execution capabilities.
The offering is positioned as a broader proposition than traditional deal advisory or standalone technology services.
The launch also gives Coforge another avenue to monetise its experience with private equity-owned businesses. The company has worked with PE firms for more than a decade, according to Singh, and has built a track record around integrating acquisitions and improving growth and margins across acquired entities.
