Indian IT firm Coforge has announced the launch of its agentic AI platform, Nexa, aimed at the global insurance industry.
The platform is designed to help insurance carriers automate functions across underwriting, claims processing, product development and platform modernisation while continuing to use their existing core insurance systems.
In a press statement, the company said the platform sits atop insurers’ existing technology infrastructure and uses AI orchestration capabilities to streamline workflows without requiring the replacement of incumbent systems.
The platform is built on Coforge’s One AI framework and includes a marketplace of more than 30 AI assets tailored for insurance operations. The offerings also include an AI-powered submission centre for underwriting, an automated state-rollout factory for regulatory filings, product-rollout automation tools, AI-driven global expansion capabilities, legacy platform modernisation tools, and an agentic claims-triage system.
According to Coforge, these modules can help insurers accelerate product launches, improve underwriting productivity, automate claims routing and reduce modernisation costs.
“Purpose-built for the global insurance market across Property & Casualty, Life & Annuities, and Speciality, as well as MGAs and intermediaries, Nexa addresses critical industry challenges through a suite of integrated, production-grade capabilities,” Rajeev Batra, Executive Vice President (EVP) and Global Practice Head of Insurance, Coforge, said.
Coforge said the platform has been built with human oversight and auditability features and can be deployed either as individual modules or as a broader "insurance in a box" model.
The company plans to position Nexa as a key component of its insurance-focused growth strategy, betting that insurers will increasingly adopt AI-driven operational platforms to improve efficiency and speed up decision making while preserving existing technology investments.
The launch comes at a time when insurers globally are exploring agentic AI systems capable of executing multiple tasks with limited human intervention, moving beyond traditional automation and chatbot-based deployments.
