Dell Technologies on February 20 launched its “AI India Blueprint” at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, presenting a national execution framework to scale AI as part of India’s Digital Public Infrastructure and align with policy initiatives such as the IndiaAI Mission and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

Titled “Advancing India’s AI Future: A Blueprint for Trusted, Secure and Nationwide Success,” the document outlines recommendations across sovereign AI infrastructure, energy-linked data centres, federated data systems, workforce development and governance.

The company said the framework is designed to help India move from pilot projects to production-scale AI deployment by treating AI as shared national capability.

According to estimates cited in the blueprint, AI workloads in India are projected to grow at about 30% compound annual growth rate through 2030.

The IndiaAI Mission anticipates national compute demand reaching 12–15 exaFLOPS by the end of the decade. Data centres could account for up to 8% of India’s electricity consumption by 2030, underlining the need to align compute growth with power and sustainability planning.

The blueprint is structured around three pillars — Invest, Innovate and Evolve. Under Invest, Dell recommends expanding AI compute capacity, building energy-aware data centres and creating federated data foundations. It calls for a national AI compute strategy with defined capacity targets, regional deployment aligned with innovation clusters and transparent access for startups, academia, MSMEs and public institutions. It also links compute expansion to power availability, connectivity and domestic manufacturing to strengthen supply chains.

Under Innovate, the framework focuses on workforce readiness. With India projected to require nearly one million AI professionals by 2030, it proposes integrating AI literacy across education, expanding AI Centres of Excellence beyond metro cities, establishing civil service AI academies and enabling applied research through open AI ecosystems.

Under Evolve, the blueprint addresses governance and security. It supports a principles-based and sector-led regulatory approach and recommends clearer operational guidance, stronger cybersecurity baselines and wider adoption of Zero Trust architectures. It also calls for mechanisms to address risks such as data poisoning, adversarial attacks and model misuse.

“By investing in sovereign infrastructure, fostering innovation through collaboration, and leveraging the power of public-private partnerships, India can build a robust AI ecosystem that drives innovation and inclusion,” said Vivek Mohindra, Senior Vice President and Special Advisor to the Vice Chair and COO, Dell Technologies.

“Our AI Blueprint reflects our belief that AI will be a transformative force for good, enabling India to lead the way in shaping a future that is equitable, sustainable, and globally influential,” said Manish Gupta, President and Managing Director at Dell Technologies, India.

Dell said it will support India’s AI expansion through infrastructure, partnerships and enterprise deployments as compute demand scales over the coming years.
