Google is offering eligible college students in India one year of its Google AI Plus plan at no cost as part of a new student offer for the academic year. The plan includes access to Gemini Omni, double the Gemini usage limits and 400 GB of storage.
Students can claim the offer through Google’s AI student programme. Google is also offering a bundle of Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium at up to 70% off for students who want access to ad-free music and video streaming.
The company is also adding new study features across Gemini and Google Search.
Gemini’s new student hub will include study notebooks, which use diagnostic quizzes to identify a student’s strengths and knowledge gaps before creating study plans around their learning goals. Students can also request and discuss Deep Research reports through Gemini Live.
Google said the tools are intended to support personalised learning while keeping teachers involved.
“Across Google Search, Gemini, YouTube, and more, our education tools are built to be safe by design and rooted in proven learning science,” the company said.
Google is also adding learning features to Search. Students will be able to generate interactive visuals for difficult concepts, create practice quizzes, use Lens for step-by-step learning and organise projects through notebooks and custom files.
The offer comes as Google expands Gemini beyond general-purpose AI use into education, with students getting access to AI tools for research, revision and project work as part of their academic workflow.
Google said its goal is to “bring lessons to life in the classroom and support personalised study at home, while keeping teachers in the lead.”
