Healthcare company Roche will open its second Digital Technology Hub in India in Hyderabad, expanding its global technology network. The new hub will begin operations in the first quarter of 2027 and will scale its workforce and capabilities over the coming years.
The company said the Hyderabad facility will strengthen its digital and technology operations by adding capacity in life sciences expertise and supporting the development of digital solutions.
The hub will join Roche’s existing Pune site as part of its India technology footprint.
Ramesh Durvasula, Chief Data Officer and Chief AI Officer a.i. at Roche, said Hyderabad offers access to talent in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors. “By tapping into India’s vibrant healthcare and technology ecosystem, we are creating scalable data-driven innovations to advance our core purpose of improving patient care,” Durvasula said in a statement.
The two India-based Digital Technology Hubs will house teams working on IT services and digital applications across areas including biostatistics, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and medical safety. Roche said the Hyderabad site will add domain expertise and support the development of its digital solutions.
Raja Jamalamadaka, VP and Site Head for Roche Pune and Hyderabad Sites, said the investment reflects the company’s long-term commitment to India. “By scaling our footprint, we are enhancing our capability to orchestrate seamless, next-generation digital and technology solutions,” he added.
Roche, headquartered in Basel, Switzerland, operates across diagnostics and pharmaceuticals, serving patients in more than 150 countries. The company focuses on areas including oncology, neurology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, ophthalmology, infectious diseases and immunology.
