Oracle is expanding its India data centre capacity with new data centres in Mumbai and Hyderabad, citing rising demand for cloud and AI services across sectors. The expanded data centre capacity and its multicloud strategy will support enterprise workloads that require local data residency, compliance, and AI integration.

The company said its MeitY-empanelled cloud regions have undergone multiple capacity expansions since their launch in 2019 and 2020, and will anchor its next phase of growth in the country.

Speaking at the Oracle AI World Tour in Mumbai on February 9, Kapil Makhija, Vice President, Technology Cloud, Oracle India, said, “We are seeing tremendous momentum in India for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as more organisations across industries choose OCI to power their most mission-critical workloads. OCI business has doubled in India over the past two years.”

Oracle said it is expanding its multicloud presence in India with two OCI regions, two Oracle Database@Azure regions, and one Oracle Database@Google Cloud region, with another Google Cloud region and one Oracle Database@AWS region planned.

In December 2025, it launched Oracle Database@Google Cloud in the Mumbai region.

The company said demand is being led by BFSI, healthcare, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, and government projects. Recent infrastructure wins include Tally Solutions, Bata Limited, Wipro, TVS Credit, Bajaj Finance, and Aditya Birla Capital.

Oracle said its AI portfolio has expanded from 100 GenAI and 50 agentic AI features in the previous financial year to more than 600 agentic AI capabilities in the first half of FY26. The company has integrated 400 AI agents into Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, with 200 more configurable through its AI Agent Studio.

Shailesh Singla, Vice President, Cloud Applications, Oracle India, said, “India’s AI market is on a remarkable growth trajectory, projected to exceed $17 billion by 2027.”

He added that Oracle Cloud Applications is driving SaaS adoption in India as organisations increasingly turn to AI and digital transformation to scale their businesses. Overall, SaaS growth in India remains in the double digits year-on-year.

Oracle also introduced the Zettascale10 Cluster for AI and the AI Database 26ai, which includes vector search and retrieval augmented generation capabilities. The company said AI features are embedded across its database, applications, and infrastructure stack at no additional cost.

Sector-wise SaaS growth in India was led by healthcare, which grew over 200%, and high tech, which grew over 100%, with adoption across banking, professional services, and public sector organisations.
