Pramaana Labs, an AI verification and accountability platform, has closed a $27 million seed funding round led by Khosla Ventures. Accel, BoldCap, Nexus Venture Partners, Premji Invest, and Unbound also participated in the round.
The company’s early backers include Pushmeet Kohli, Vice President at Google DeepMind, and Sriram Rajamani, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft CoreAI.
Pramaana Labs said it will use the funds to train its formalisation and prover models, hire AI researchers, and expand its network of domain experts across regulated verticals, including tax, healthcare, cybersecurity, and financial compliance.
The company was founded in 2025 by Ranjan Rajagopalan, Krishnan Raghavan, and Sanjay Ganapathy Subramaniam. It builds AI systems designed to convert complex human knowledge into machine-verifiable outputs, where each claim is grounded and traceable. The company says it is the first to apply formal verification to commercial, high-stakes domains such as tax, healthcare, financial compliance, and government policy.
Its system works by encoding the rules of a given domain—such as the US tax code, clinical protocols, or financial regulations—into a formal language that machines can process with mathematical precision.
The company’s research division includes academics from IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and UC Berkeley, and it also collaborates with Stanford's Centaur Lab on related research.
Pramaana Labs competes with other companies in this space, including Harmonic, Axiom Math, and Logical Intelligence.
